Programs / Literacy & Educational Development / Program Overview
Our school based educational programs focus on improving the academic achievement of young at-risk children and their families. These programs include our successful All-Aboard tutoring/mentoring program to help at-risk kindergarten and first grade students learn basic literacy skills, and achieve promotion to the next grade. In addition we provide parent trainings that are designed to improve the overall well being of families facing complex medical, academic, or mental health challenges. These efforts include parenting courses that help at-risk families learn effective ways of caring for their children in order to avoid abuse/neglect, and that promote healthy attachment relationship between parent and child.
